Who this policy covers
This policy covers the Clock browser extension and these public website pages. The extension source code is kept in a private repository.
Information stored on your device
Clock uses the browser’s extension storage (chrome.storage.local). That data stays in your browser profile. Clock stores:
- The time zones you add to World Clock, such as the city and time-zone identifier.
- Alarms you create: the time, optional name, on or off state, and the next scheduled time.
- Stopwatch state: whether it is running, elapsed time, and lap times.
- Timer state: the duration you entered and whether the countdown is running, paused, or finished.
- Whether premium is active for this browser, so World Clock, Alarms, and Timer can stay unlocked after you pay.
- A random installation id for this browser, used only to check whether this installation has paid.
- A license key, only if you enter one to activate Premium, and the id of that activation.
Removing Clock from the browser deletes this extension storage with the extension.
How alarms and the timer use the current page
Clock asks for permission to run on normal http and https pages so it can blur the page you are viewing. When an alarm rings, that overlay shows the alarm name, time, Snooze, and Stop. When a timer finishes, the overlay shows 00:00, Close, and “Time's up!”, then removes itself after 4 seconds.
The overlay script does not read the text of the page, your passwords, form entries, or browsing history. It only draws the Clock card and listens for Snooze, Stop, or Close.
Permissions the extension requests
- Storage saves the items listed above on your device.
- Alarms wakes the extension when an alarm or timer is due, including after the popup is closed.
- Scripting and site access place the alarm and timer card on open web pages. This access is not used to read page content.
Premium payment
You can buy premium from inside Clock. Checkout opens on a secure payment page. You enter payment details there, not in the extension. Clock does not collect or store your card number, and it does not keep a copy of your full payment credentials.
The payment provider processes the transaction and may receive details such as your email address and payment method under its own privacy policy. Clock sends this browser’s installation id to https://www.clockextension.site and receives back only whether Premium is active for that id. That server keeps the installation id and the premium flag. The stopwatch does not require payment.
If you enter a license key in Clock, the extension stores it on this device and sends it to https://live.dodopayments.com to activate or validate it. The key is used only for that check.
A key can be active in 2 browsers at a time. If it already is, Clock also sends the key to https://www.clockextension.site, which uses it once to turn off the key’s oldest activation so this browser can use it. That server does not store the key.
Information Clock does not collect
Clock does not ask you to create a Clock account. It does not send your time zones, alarms, stopwatch laps, or timer settings to a server. Those items stay in extension storage on your device. Clock does not collect your card number.
How long information is kept
Clocks, alarms, stopwatch data, and timer data remain on this device until you delete them or uninstall Clock. The installation id and premium flag are also kept on the Clock payment server so this browser can stay unlocked. A license key stored in the extension remains until you turn Premium off or uninstall Clock.
Children
Clock is a general time utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
